OPITO Further Offshore Emergency Training FOET (5858)

Course Overview

Objective
The aim of the FOET is to provide the delegates with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practise during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore. 
 
The objectives of the FOET are that delegates will be able to: 
 

  1. Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching. 
  2. Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke filled areas. 
  3. Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid. 

Certification
On successful completion of the course, delegates will be provided with an OPITO Approved FOET Certificate which is valid for 4 years.
 
Assessment
Delegates will be assessed throughout the course, and will be required to undertake practical exercises to demonstrate their competence..  

Delivery
The course is delivered using a mixture of theoretical delivery, observation and practical demonstrations.  All training is conducted in a safe and controlled environment by trained and qualified personnel.
 
Pre-requisites
Due to certain aspects of the course being physically demanding and potentially stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
