OPITO Control Room Operator Emergency Standard CRO (9004)
The aim of the Control Room Operator Emergency Response assessment programme is to assess delegate’s performance in controlling emergencies and critical situations, in the position of a CRO.
In accordance with OPITO standard, a minimum of two scenarios will be undertaken. These will cover the following events;
- Threat to Life
- Threat to the Installation
- Threat to Environment
The competence statements contained in this standard provide a clear description of performance in the workplace:
- What practitioners are expected to do
- The underpinning knowledge and skills they would require to enable them to do what was expected
- How they could demonstrate what was expected of them
- How their performance would be assessed
The main method of assessment is direct observation of the performance of the CRO under simulated conditions according to the OPITO standard. The OPITO approved assessment will be carried out by a formally qualified assessor who is also occupationally competent in this field.
Who should attend?
